We had a great time at the Teachers' Writing Academy, but don't just take our word for it. Here's what one teacher shared about her experience:
Thank you for the personal collaboration time and helping me figure out how to take these ideas and use them in my own classroom this year. It was very valuable to collaborate as a small group and look at each student's writing every day. We got to hear what was working or not working, what great language the other students were using with each other, what questions my peer teachers had about their own conversations, etc. It was extremely beneficial to have a "conference plan" before each morning so I knew exactly what direction to take with each student. Even though this experience was geared more toward 2nd-5th grade teachers, I have a list of things I'm ready to try in kindergarten this year. I am confident I will be a better writing teacher this year directly due to my participation this week. Thank you!
